Starting a Moving Business in California?

If you plan on transporting household goods or personal effects commercially in California you will require a Household Mover Permit (MTR). Household movers in California are regulated by the Bureau of Household Goods and Services (BHGS).

What about Interstate Movers?

If you plan on conducting interstate moves, a Household Mover Permit (MTR) is still required in California. In addition, intestate movers are required to obtain the MC number from the USDOT.
